Whether your business sells products or offers a service, a website allows you to be found by your potential customers 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Having a website means you could be getting leads and making money during your sleep. How amazing is that!? Gone are the days you need to have a brick and mortar store and be fully awake to make a living 😛
For example, say you have an ecommerce business selling dresses, it’s like you are leaving your shop open for everyone to have access to buy your dresses wherever and whenever they want. If you ship your products worldwide, it means you could be selling a white lace dress on the other side of the world while you are fast asleep at 2am.
Back in the days you could only sell your products where you can actually get to physically. The internet truly brings the world together and it doesn’t matter where you are in the world, your customers can now connect with you in just a few clicks.
You can reach way more people than ever before by having a website for your business.
2, Your Website can Act as An Agent for You
It basically means your website can filter through the right kind of customers to you. Obviously not 100% because it also comes down to your actual offers, sales conversations, and more..

From the first moment they get to your website, think of it as they enter your physical shop at the same time. If you don’t have a brick and mortar store, it could be a design studio, office or wherever you would meet for your consultation etc.

If your website represents your business yet they don’t connect with what you’ve presented, it could possibly mean that they are not your kind of customers and that’s ok.
On the other hand, if they connect with your brand message and love the offers on your website, they would proceed to make a purchase or enquire for more information. Either way, they are taking a step closer to becoming your customer and all thanks to your website acting as an agent for you!

If you don’t want to invest into having a website for your business, you could potentially be losing more money than you think.
For many people looking for a product or service, when they find out that a business doesn’t have a website, there’s a higher chance that they would move onto the next option.
Why do some people avoid businesses that don’t have a website?
The answer is credibility. People don’t want to spend their hard earned money on something they are not sure of or have doubts if a particular business is legitimate.
Every single one of the customer who has turned away because of a business not having its own website has a value of XYZ. Only you can answer this question as to how much you are actually losing when you continue to not have an online presence for your business.
In my personal experience, I like to check out a company’s website after finding them on social media because I want to make sure they are real and legitimate. I want to make sure that this company isn’t going to take my money and run away.
When a business doesn’t have a website, it seems to me that they are not serious about what they do to invest in something so important therefore why should I spend my money there?
A business without a website is like searching for an address that doesn’t exist on Google Maps. Would you go there? Would you dare go to an unlisted place?
There’s truly more gain than loss when you have a website for your business.
Apart from the occasional updates and maintenance, you would only need to spend some time and effort at the start when you are having your website created. It’s totally worth it! Most web designers offer maintenance plans for their clients, I know I do 😀
